Michelle founded Bklynite Media, Inc. in 2019, offering comprehensive public relations solutions. With over 15 years of experience in the field and a background rooted in the hospitality industry.

Michelle, the daughter of immigrants from Guangdong, China, was born and raised in New York City. Her parents arrived with a deep-seated passion for Cantonese cuisine and a longing for the homeland they left behind. They channeled this nostalgia into opening a small, traditional Cantonese restaurant in the Lower East Side, Chinatown, hoping to share a piece of their heritage with the bustling city around them.

Their restaurant quickly became known for its authentic Cantonese dishes like roast duck, crispy roast pork, BBQ char siu, double fried chicken, and a variety of rice and soup-based seafood offerings for locals. Regulars come to the restaurant not just for the food but for the sense of family and connection they find within its walls.

Michelle grew up in this environment, learning the ropes of the restaurant industry from her parents. She developed a deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication it took to run a small business. Now, as an adult, she understands the nuances of marketing for small businesses and is a passionate advocate for creative marketing within the restaurant community. With a humble dedication to her roots, Michelle continues to ensure that the traditions and flavors of Cantonese cuisine thrive in New York City.

Michelle’s achievements have been recognized through various platforms, including the Valley Bank’s inspirHER Women in Business campaign of the year, Yelp’s Business, BlogHer, IHeartRadio, and Business Talk Radio where she delved into topics ranging from public relations to social media to entrepreneurship and effective marketing strategies for the hospitality, food & beverage industry.

Additionally, she was featured in the TLC network's Cake Boss reality show, Time Out NY Kids, and BK Reader.

Michelle kickstarted her career in the financial public relations sector, specializing in publicity, corporate and crisis communications, brand management, and social media marketing for Fortune 500 companies, representing hedge funds, private equity, alternative assets, Big Four accounting firms, and banking.

Notably, Michelle played a pivotal role in launching Ogilvy’s inaugural healthcare campaigns during the healthcare reform era. Her adaptability and expertise extended to the tourism industry, where she spearheaded successful awareness campaigns in South America, earning her the prestigious PRSA’s Reputation & Brand Management award in 2014. Michelle's multifaceted background and dedication to excellence continue to make her a standout figure in the public relations landscape.
